Training over, time for the winter to begin!

Last Saturday training books and recipe plans were put away as we opened for the winter.  All the team will be sporting their ‘team slippers’ whilst in the chalet to stop their toes getting cold!

hot-tub-3

Hot tubs are a huge highlight to any holiday, so at F&P we need to make sure they are run correctly and according to all regulations.  The team all listened in and we have 2 fully functioning steamy hot tubs going ready for the winter now!

Stacking the logs…

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Always good for team building - the log delivery arrived on Thursday morning and as usual was tipped from the truck ready for the team to stack.  The chain method was abandonned for the ‘grab a few a walk’ method which proved much faster!

welove2ski - Cook off competition

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Holly and I have been busy all afternoon with a competition we have been running on www.welove2ski.com .  Entrants needed to submit a recipe that was easy and delicious and could be cooked in 2 hours.

We then chose a short list of 3:

Chicken Bhuna - sent in by Alister Hodgson of Bishop Auckland

Lamb stew - from Saskia Weijand in London

Home-made sausages with creamy colcannon and fresh apple sauce - from Isabel Gray in London

After an afternoon of frantic cooking we are now tasting and deciding which will be the winner…. watch this space, www.welove2ski.com

Entrants had to send in a recipe for a main course that can be prepared and cooked in no more than two hours in a chalet or apartment kitchen. Holly Fisher and Philippa Eyles have now picked their short-list of three:

Abi and Nick at the helm for winter 2009-10

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

This winter we are delighted to have Abi Kernahan and Nick Payne back for the season as our resort managers.  Both Abi and Nick first came to F&P in 2007 and have worked as our chalet host and chef in Chalet Le Christophe since.  This winter they are handing over the baton to Vinny and his host so they can take up their new roles.  Abi will be our resort manager and Nick will be our consultant chef and driver.

We are very excited about the winter ahead with them!
