Suicide pheasant

Monday, November 28th, 2011

Phew, we made it!

Damage caused by pesky pheasant

After a somewhat treacherous drive down from Calais, when a suicide pheasant decide to hurl itself at my driver’s window as I was driving in the fast lane, we eventually made it to Les Allues. Thankfully I had Judy in convoy to help me limp on the 7 hour drive in the dark, cold and fog with no window or wing mirror. I never thought my ski jacket and Judy’s driving gloves would come in so handy! Birchy and Delboy came to my rescue near Lyon as I was finally losing the plot and getting a little chilly. Thank you team!

Well it wouldn’t be a normal start to the season without some mild-disaster to kick start us off with!

Training updates to come….

Meet The Team 2011

Monday, November 14th, 2011

It’s that time of year again… An opportunity for the new F&P team to get together before the start of the season in France.  All excited about the approaching winter we gathered at the lovely Draft House in Clapham for an evening of catching up with faces past and meeting the new faces for the 2011 Team.  The evening started off sensibly enough, however as soon as the first round of Jagermeister came around things turned left somewhat.  Needless to say, a fun evening had by all and certainly a good induction into Alpine living!  There were certain faces missing; Philippa, Kev, Tim, Mat, Jess, Chris, Tracey and of course Dan you were all missed - to the rest… thank you for a great night! Here are some photos of the evening!

Friday, November 11th, 2011

On 21.10.11 - 3 weeks early - the newest member of the Fish&Pips team arrived - Edward James Howgego Hartley (Ned), weighing in at 6lbs 8oz.  Three weeks in and he is both amazing and exhausting but we are settling into our new life as a family.  A few pics of the new addition - first trip to the Alps planned for early January!

Massive thank you to all our guests who have sent such lovely emails, and a huge thank you to Holly and the team -  Clare, Babs and Judy who have and will be allowing us time to enjoy these precious first months.
